This week Lilya met with good Friend Kristy Sikiotis, Director and Designer of Bali based LabelMaidenLove to discuss style, inspiration and take a quick peek inside her amazing wardrobe.

Kirsty Talks
Personal Style.
My style is incredibly relaxed with a hint of country and a touch of vintage. My husband is calling me Dolly [Parton] at the moment as I have this new shaggy haircut that kind of looks like a wig… It can look pretty big and Ms Parton like!
MaidenLove.
Maidenlove was born on the tropical island of Bali in 2010 and started out as a swimwear brand. This coming summer we have expanded into all facets of womens fashion, swim, apparel, accessories, and jewellery. The label has a lot of vintage references both in the styling and the materials used. A part of the collection uses vintage fabric remnants reworked into more current and modern designs, which is our way of taking an eco friendlier approach in what can be such a disposable industry.
Style Icons.
Charlotte Gainsbourg, Chloe Sevigny & Sofia Coppola. I think it is important to follow your instincts with dressing, to wear what you love and what you feel comfortable in. These ladies always seem to own their look.
Trends this Autumn/Winter season.
1940 silhouettes, collared dresses and big floral wallpaper placement prints.
Label Love.
International Labels I love— Marc by Marc Jacobs, Dries Van Noten, Acne, Helmut Lang.
Australian Labels— I heart Arabella Ramsay, Lilya, and Lucy Folk Jewellery (especially those taco friendship bands… can’t get enough!)
Favourite Shopping Spots.
In Melbourne, I love all the vintage stores up the Windsor end of Chapel Street. I always scour second hand markets, wherever I am in the world, for great one off pieces. I love visiting Opening Ceremony, American Rag and Marc by Marc Jacobs when I’m in the US and Topshop and Matches when in the UK.
Style Uniform.
In Melbourne I’m always in jeans and boots. In Bali its bikinis, little dresses and a pair of my vintage fabric wedges!
Most Recent Purchase.
A new pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs spectacles and a pair of fluro orange Nikes just in time for that new years health regime to kick in, any day now…ha!
Beauty Advice.
Lately I have been loving a different perfume for everyday and some crazy colourful eye make up to shake things up a little.
What She Can’t Live Without.
My YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils in Noir Radical. Non fashion, although I wouldn’t say he is non fashion, would have to be my husband— Corny but true!
